15 people nominated by the Central Committee failed to be elected as National Assembly deputies.

There were 182/197 people introduced by central agencies and organizations who were elected as deputies to the 14th National Assembly.

Presenting a report on the results of the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term at the 6th session of the National Election Council held on the morning of June 8, Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Chief of Office of the National Election Council, said that the total number of voters nationwide was 67,485,480, the total number of voters who participated in the vote was 67,049,200, reaching 99.35%. In general, the voter participation rate was very high, over 90%.

The total number of delegates elected on May 22 and the additional election on May 29 in Can Tho was 496 out of 870 candidates. Of which, 182/197 delegates nominated by central agencies were elected; 12/12 delegates were elected; 3/3 of the President were elected; 17/17 delegates were elected; 1/1 of the Court was elected; 1/1 of the Procuracy was elected; 15/15 of the Ministry of National Defense was elected; 3/3 of the Ministry of Public Security was elected; 104/113 delegates were elected; 25/31 delegates were elected from the National Front and its member organizations.

Regarding the combined structure, ethnic minorities are 4 people less than expected; women are 17 people less than expected; non-Party members are 4.2% less than expected; young people are 21 people more than expected; re-election is equal to the expected number, but 1.1% less than expected; self-nominations are 0.4% less than expected.

According to Mr. Phuc, the election results of the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term in polling area No. 2, An Son commune, Kien Hai district, Kien Giang province must be annulled due to serious violations of the law and a re-election was held on June 5.

Regarding the election results of People's Council deputies at all levels, reports sent by 63 provinces and cities show that at the provincial level, 3,908 people were elected, lacking 8 deputies; at the district level, 25,179 people were elected, lacking 120 deputies; and at the commune level, 291,273 people were elected, lacking 6,626 deputies.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc, the results of this election still have limitations: "There are still cases of errors in printing ballots leading to the cancellation of election results and re-election, negligence in controlling the number of ballots issued, the number of ballots collected, and the stamping of ballots. Many places have not elected enough People's Council delegates, especially commune-level People's Council delegates. The situation of voting on behalf of others and voting on behalf of others has not been resolved yet" - Mr. Phuc said./.
