Although significantly affected because most of the players are training with the national teams, Hanoi FC is forced to "live with the flood" in the current situation.

Hanoi FC is one of the teams with the largest number of players for the U22 Vietnam and the national team. At the recent 29th SEA Games, there were 5 players from the capital team participating: Phi Minh Long, Tran Van Kien, Doan Van Hau, Quang Hai and Do Duy Manh.

As for the national team participating in the match with Cambodia in the 2019 Asian Cup qualifiers, Minh Long, Van Hau, Quang Hai and Van Quyet were the ones called up. Before the match with SLNA, all 4 players had very little time to assemble with the team.

The Capital team also suffered heavy losses in terms of personnel when a series of players were injured. In that context, Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem was forced to use players who had just returned from serving the national teams.

“We have many players competing in the 29th SEA Games as well as the recent match against Cambodia in the 2019 Asian Cup qualifiers. Despite the disappointing results, I am not worried about the psychological problem because in football, failure is an inevitable part. You are professional players so you will accept that. However, the current situation is quite difficult for us when Duy Manh is injured, and yesterday, Quang Hai, Doan Van Hau and Van Quyet still did not gather with the team so I did not have time to talk to you.

However, with the team's many injuries, I will definitely use those players at certain times. Those are our certain disadvantages in the away match at SLNA," Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem confided.

According to the captain of Hanoi FC, the problem that gives teams a headache is that the break is too long, affecting the performance of the teams and any team needs time to get back on track. “The long break will greatly affect the performance as well as the feeling of the players. When the V-League returns, we will be affected in the next match against SLNA, but after that, the cycle will return. The schedule of 1 match/week is very suitable and helps the players have time to recover. Any team is the same, if they can play continuously, it will keep the rhythm for the players,” Mr. Nghiem added.

Meanwhile, SLNA will not be affected too much. The Nghe An team only has Hoang Van Khanh training with U22 Vietnam. During the past 2 months of break, coach Nguyen Duc Thang and his team have focused on improving their ranking after a series of unsuccessful matches since the beginning of the season.

That is a big advantage for the Vinh home team to look for their first home win after a series of 6 draws and losses.
