Two people who spread false news about Covid-19 in Nghe An were fined
(Baonghean.vn) - These two cases are related to the incident of fake Covid-19 test result response sheets of Nghe An Province Center for Disease Control spreading on social networks.
On May 7, 2021, the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department - Nghe An Police discovered and worked with 2 cases.posting false informationabout Covid-19 epidemic on personal facebook page.
The two cases include: Mr. P.D.L (born in 1950, residing in Hamlet 1, Nghi Phu Commune, Vinh City) and Ms. NTH (born in 1987, residing in Truong Tien Block, Hung Binh Ward, Vinh City).
Specifically, on the afternoon of May 6, 2021, Mr. L. and Ms. H. posted on their personal Facebook pages an image of the test result response form of the Nghe An Provincial Center for Disease Control that had been edited, in which the conclusion of the 4 people clearly stated negative, while the test result of Mr. NTA (residing in Le Loi Ward, Vinh City) was recorded as "SAR". The above false information quickly attracted the attention of many netizens, causing public confusion.

At the police station, Mr. L. and Ms. H. cooperated with the authorities, admitted their wrongdoings, removed the posts on their personal Facebook pages, and pledged not to re-offend. Currently, the Department of National Security and Criminal Investigation continues to complete the file to proceed with the handling in accordance with the law.
