200 union members and youths join forces to take care of mangrove forests
(Baonghean.vn) - On September 18, the Nghe An Provincial Red Cross Society coordinated with the Dien Chau District Youth Union to organize a campaign to take care of mangrove forests, clean sea dykes, and prevent saltwater intrusion in Dien Bich commune.
Mangrove forests are like green walls that block wind and waves, protecting people living along rivers and seas. The area of mangrove forests is shrinking due to human impacts. Therefore, the campaign to care for mangrove forests and clean sea dykes is of great significance, aiming to raise people's awareness and actions in protecting mangrove forests.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, over 200 youth union members cleaned up and cleared garbage in the sea dike section of Dien Bich and Dien Kim communes; focused on caring for and pruning mangrove forests, and surveyed to replant some new areas.
