23 British diplomats asked to leave the country by the Russian Foreign Ministry
The Russian Foreign Ministry declared 23 British diplomats persona non grata and ordered them to leave Russia within a week.

Moscow also withdrew the agreement on the opening of a British Consulate General in St. Petersburg. In addition, the activities of the British Council were terminated in connection with its unresolved status.
Relevant procedures will be carried out in accordance with international legal practices.
