(Baonghean.vn)- A group of 5 young men entered the village with many suspicious signs. Mistaking this group for robbers, the villagers shouted and the whole village surrounded and beat them seriously.

On October 23, Colonel Nguyen Tat Thang, head of Nghi Loc district police, said that the unit had organized an investigation into the incident in which a group of five young men were surrounded and beaten by the entire village on the evening of October 22, in Hamlet 9, Nghi Xa Commune (Nghi Loc). Initially, the police determined that the group of young men were beaten because the villagers mistook them for entering the village to steal.

Accordingly, at around 8:00 p.m. on October 20, Pham Cong Minh (27 years old, residing in Hamlet 19, Nghi Trung Commune) lost his white iPhone after attending his sister's birthday party at her house. Also attending the birthday party was Ms. Le Thi Phuong Mai, along with a person named Vuong (residing in Nghi Xa Commune, Nghi Loc District).

Then, at around 8:00 p.m. on October 22, Minh continued to attend a birthday party with his brother-in-law named Nghia at the house of Le Van An (residing in Ward 19, Nghi Trung Commune). There, Nghia showed Minh a white iPhone and asked if it was the lost phone. Minh confirmed that it was his phone. However, Ms. Le Thi Phuong Mai, who was also present at the time, said that the phone belonged to her lover, and that Mr. Vuong had bought it for her. To clarify, Minh called Vuong to ask about the origin of the phone and Vuong confirmed that he had bought the phone as a gift for Mai.

Immediately after that, Minh made an appointment to meet Vuong at Hamlet 7, Nghi Xa Commune to clarify the matter of his phone. When leaving, Minh invited Nguyen Van Ngoc (27 years old), Le Van An (28 years old), Pham Cong Ngoc (20 years old), Dang Van Tan (all residing in Nghi Trung Commune, Nghi Loc District) to go with him. When they arrived, Minh's group asked the locals but were told that there was no one named Vuong there. Minh immediately called Vuong and the two made an appointment to meet at Hamlet 8, Nghi Xa Commune.

When Minh met Vuong, both sides got into a fight. Vuong ran away and Minh chased after him. While running away, Vuong shouted that there was a thief, so people living nearby ran out and beat Minh's group of friends, seriously injuring them. Of these, only Tan was able to escape. After being beaten by the people, the 4 injured people were taken to Nghe An 115 Hospital for emergency treatment.

Regarding the information that people were threatened with guns by this group, Nghi Loc district police are continuing to investigate. Currently, all 4 young men who were beaten and injured are still being treated at the hospital.
