50,000 billion VND to build road to go from Hanoi to Son La in only 2.5 hours

The completion of the Hoa Binh - Son La expressway will shorten the travel time from Son La to Hanoi from the current 6 hours to 2.5 hours.

Son La province has just announced Official Dispatch No. 1313/TTg-CN dated September 1, 2017 of the Prime Minister on adding the Hoa Binh - Son La route to the planning for the development of Vietnam's expressway network until 2020, with a vision to 2030.

Accordingly, the Hoa Binh - Son La expressway has a total length of 189.5 km with a total investment of about VND50,270 billion in the form of public-private partnership.

The starting point of the route is connected to the Hoa Binh 4 Bridge Project, located in Trung Minh Commune, Ky Son District, Hoa Binh Province; the end point connects to Le Duc Tho Street, Chieng Sinh Ward, Son La City. The road scale includes 4 complete lanes, the roadbed width is 22 m, in accordance with the design standards of Vietnam's standard highways.

Investing more than 50,000 billion VND to build Hoa Binh - Son La expressway.

The investment process is divided into 2 phases. Prior to 2020, priority will be given to investment in the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau section to meet transportation and resource needs (this section has been studied by investors and proposed for investment and construction); the Moc Chau - Son La section will be invested in after 2020.

This expressway will connect the external traffic network of Son La province with Hoa Binh province and the capital Hanoi, creating an expressway axis connecting the Northwest region, with the key economic region of the North, connecting to the Northeast border gate and Lach Huyen international seaport.

At the same time, it reduces the load on National Highway 6, Hoa Binh - Son La section, contributing to promoting socio-economic development of localities in the two provinces of Hoa Binh - Son La, creating conditions to maximize the potential advantages of the localities.

In particular, it will shorten the travel time from Son La to Hanoi from the current 6 hours to 2.5 hours.
