1. Create a personal blog In mid-2013, Scott DeLong launched the ViralNova blog and placed Google ads on the site. Eight months later, he was earning hundreds of thousands of dollars a month, without the need for employees or raising capital from outside investors. ViralNova made money by writing social stories with catchy headlines that went viral on Facebook. In just one year, the website had about 100 million monthly readers. In 2015, DeLong sold ViralNova to media company Zealot Networks. |

2. Writing an app Nguyen Ha Dong only took 3 days to create the hottest game of 2014 - Flappy Bird. He said he earned about 50,000 USD a day by running banner ads on his phone. This also means that with just 20 days on Apple's App Store, he could earn 1 million USD. However, after 1 month, when the app was at its peak, Nguyen Ha Dong removed it from the App Store because it was "too addictive". |
