72 people in the trillion-dollar gambling ring led by 'Tuan Cho Goc' were prosecuted
The provincial police prosecuted 72 defendants in many provinces and cities to investigate the acts of "Gambling" and "Organizing gambling" related to the trillion-dollar gambling ring led by "Tuan Cho Goc".
This afternoon (April 10), Thai Binh Provincial Police informed that, related to the trillion-dong gambling ring led by Bui Quoc Tuan (born in 1970, commonly known as 'Tuan Cho Goc', residing in Quang Trung ward, Thai Binh city), up to now, the Provincial Police Investigation Agency has prosecuted 72 defendants to investigate the acts of "Gambling" and "Organizing gambling".
Previously, at the end of March, the Investigation Police Agency of Thai Binh Province busted a gambling ring and organizedgambling in the form of lotterywith large scale, activities related to the areas of Thai Binh, Hai Duong provinces and Hanoi city. The ringleader was identified by the police as Bui Quoc Tuan.
Under the guise of a successful businessman, Tuan ran the network by directly establishing a network of many levels (in Thai Binh province alone, there were 3 large networks). Only his close and powerful aides knew about Tuan's role in the network.
The subjects use electronic telecommunications devices and equipment to commit crimes, conduct transactions, and communicate with each other via social networking sites such as Zalo, Telegram, SMS messages; establish closed groups, revoke messages, and dissolve groups... The method of payment for gambling money is mainly through bank transfers and account numbers are frequently changed.
Initially, the police determined that in 2024 alone, the amount of money transacted in gambling in this network was about 2,500 billion VND.
During the raid, the Task Force seized a lot of cash, blocked and seized many assets and real estate worth over 700 billion VND.
