In particular, the Food Safety and Hygiene Department took 10 samples of melon seeds sold at Vinh market for testing and found that 8 samples were dyed with Phodamin B. This is an additive on the list of additives banned by the Ministry of Health for use in food processing. If used in large quantities, it will cause liver and kidney failure and cancer.

According to the health sector's recommendations, people should not use watermelon seeds during Tet. If they do, they should only buy them from reputable establishments with clear origins and expiration dates.
