8 common types of lights on cars you may not know?
Ambient Light is mainly equipped on expensive car models such as Mercedes to increase luxury and sparkle.
1. Lighting
Lighting includes headlights and low beams. Low beams have the function of illuminating at close range, ensuring visibility for drivers when moving in the city or at low speed but not dazzling oncoming vehicles. On the contrary, headlights have the task of supporting observation at longer distances, headlights should only be used when traveling outside densely populated areas and on highways, when there are no oncoming or same-direction vehicles because headlights will cause glare for oncoming drivers, which can easily lead to accidents. However, currently, many drivers participating in traffic do not distinguish when to use high beams/low beams.
Most of today's headlights use halogen technology. In addition, high-end car models now use Full LED smart headlights with automatic steering angle adjustment function, automatically adjusting to avoid dazzling oncoming vehicles.
2. Turn signal lights
Turn signals are often integrated with the front lights, mirrors, and rear taillights to signal other vehicles when you intend to change direction or lane.
3. Daytime running lights
Daytime Running Light (DRL) seems to have become standard equipment on current car models with the function of warning and recognizing other vehicles. Daytime running lights often use LED technology to increase lighting efficiency as well as aesthetics for the car.
4. Fog lights
True to its name, fog lights often use yellow light to increase visibility for vehicles ahead in foggy, drizzle, dusty conditions, etc. Fog lights are often placed low below the front bumper so as not to blind oncoming drivers.
5. Rear lights
Taillights are placed at the back of the car with the mandatory regulation of using red to warn the vehicles moving behind when braking suddenly, suddenly reducing speed... the stronger the braking force, the brighter the taillights, so taillights are very important to help minimize collisions from behind.
6. License plate lights
The license plate light is designed to be placed right on the license plate, behind the vehicle, with the main function of illuminating the registration plate so that the authorities and others can read the vehicle registration plate at night. The light will be turned on when the driver turns on the low beam headlights.
7. Ceiling light
Ceiling lights are located above the ceiling of the car with the function of interior lighting and are usually turned on/off manually with a switch cluster located together with the light box.
8. Interior lighting
Ambient Light is mainly equipped on expensive car models such as Mercedes to increase the luxury and sparkle of the interior. Mercedes's ambient light has up to 64 colors and allows the owner to adjust the color and brightness according to their preferences and mood.
