Front lights of manufactured, assembled and imported road motor vehicles must be inspected, tested and certified.
The Ministry of Transport has just issued Circular 07/2024/TT-BGTVT promulgating National Technical Regulations on front lights of road motor vehicles.
National technical regulation on front lights of road motor vehicles (QCVN 35:2024/BGTVT) amended and supplemented QCVN 35:2010/BGTVT specifies in detail the types of vehicle lights, including: Low beam lights, high beam lights; Independent lights; Group lights; "Uniform" lights...
Accordingly, front lights of road motor vehicles manufactured, assembled, and imported must be inspected, tested, and certified according to regulations on technical safety quality and environmental protection.
The technical requirements of the test sample are also specified more specifically, it must be a 100% new lamp, original according to the design of the manufacturing facility, no intervention or modification of the lamp parts including the bulb is allowed. The light emitted by the lamp must not be red, including other types of lamps mounted on the same front lamp body. Accessories are included to ensure the lamp operates stably, including lamp testing fixtures if necessary.
Additionally, if it is an adaptive front-lighting (AFS) lamp or a lamp whose light function cannot be activated by a conventional power source, a signal generator and/or supply and operating device must be included.
According to experts, QCVN 35:2024/BGTVT with detailed regulations will facilitate the production and import facilities of front lights for motor vehicles, and vehicle manufacturing and assembling enterprises to apply them appropriately, thereby ensuring vehicle quality and contributing to traffic safety.
Circular 07/2024/TT-BGTVT takes effect from October 1, 2024.
