From October 1, 2024: Car headlights apply new technical standards
Front lights of manufactured, assembled and imported road motor vehicles must be inspected, tested and certified.
The Ministry of Transport has just issued Circular 07/2024/TT-BGTVT promulgating National Technical Regulations on front lights of road motor vehicles.
National technical regulation on front lights of road motor vehicles (QCVN 35:2024/BGTVT) amends and supplements QCVN 35:2010/BGTVT detailing types of vehicle lights, including: Low beam lights, high beam lights; Independent lights; Group lights; "Uniform" lights...
Accordingly, front lights of road motor vehicles manufactured, assembled, and imported must be inspected, tested, and certified according to regulations on technical safety quality and environmental protection.
The technical requirements of the test sample are also specified more specifically, it must be a 100% new lamp, original according to the design of the manufacturing facility, it is not allowed to intervene and edit the lamp parts including the bulb. The light emitted by the lamp must not be red, including other types of lamps mounted on the same front light body. Accessories are included to ensure the lamp operates stably, including lamp testing fixtures if necessary.
In addition, if it is an adaptive front-lighting (AFS) lamp or a lamp that cannot be activated by the normal power source, a signal generator and/or supply and operating device must be included.
According to experts, QCVN 35:2024/BGTVT with detailed regulations will facilitate the production and import of front lights for motor vehicles, and vehicle manufacturing and assembling enterprises to implement appropriate application, thereby ensuring vehicle quality, contributing to ensuring traffic safety.
Circular 07/2024/TT-BGTVT takes effect from October 1, 2024.
