This is a photo series of 28-year-old Phan Sy Thiep and his 70-year-old mother, Nguyen Thi Lam. Thiep and his mother are originally from Can Loc (Ha Tinh), but his mother currently lives in the countryside, while Thiep has been living and working in Vinh city (Nghe An) for more than 10 years. Thiep said that the photos were taken from a creative idea contest at the company he works for. Thiep came up with the idea from the song "Bong Hong Cai Ao" and with the help of his friends, he wanted to express the feelings he had kept hidden for a long time for his mother. Photo: NVCC |

. He personally boiled soapberry water to wash his mother's hair, a job he had never done in the past 28 years. Now, when he is away from his mother, he understands how happy his mother is when her son takes care of her, even with the smallest things. Thiep confided that his parents worked hard all their lives to raise 6 of them. Thiep's father passed away 2 years ago, and all the difficulties were even greater when only his mother was left living in the hometown. His siblings are all married and living on their own. “Since I was little, my mother loved me the most, and I also loved her very much, but because I am a man, I rarely expressed my feelings. The older I get, every time I return from Vinh to visit my mother, being with her makes me feel even smaller. I feel like I can’t grow up” - Thiep shared. He and his mother sifted rice and picked out the stones to prepare for lunch, which he rarely had with his mother in the 10 years he was away from home. Photo: NVCC |

Thiep rarely goes back to his hometown because his work is busy all year round. Therefore, every time he goes back to his hometown, he takes the time to help his mother take care of the housework. Photo: NVCC |
