Late in the afternoon, the loudspeaker announced that the people would come to the hall of Hamlet 2 tonight to watch a movie on the big screen, with two films: “Ten girls at Dong Loc intersection” and “Liberating the South and reunifying the country 1975”. Although it was not yet time, the people had gathered in large numbers to prepare a seat for themselves; the unit’s propaganda team worked actively and urgently to serve the people in the most thoughtful way. Mr. Ho Vinh Khuong, 77 years old, in Hamlet 2, said: “Tonight, the soldiers came to show a movie for the people, the people were very happy. I urged my wife to cook early to go watch. Hearing the announcement, I knew that these two films were very meaningful, helping me remember the time when I fought the Americans in battlefield B”.
Also included in the unit's mass mobilization program this time is to coordinate with the people in building new rural areas. From early morning, along both sides of the road leading to Hamlet 1, red flags and banners were fluttering, with loud speakers and music playing, the people and officers and soldiers carried out environmental sanitation, cleared sewers, and leveled the road surface in degraded areas.
We went to the corn field located along the Lam River, where the people of Hamlet 2 were working with the soldiers to dig a drainage ditch leading to the river. Although it was raining and quite cold, everyone worked actively and urgently with each hoe stroke and each truck carrying soil. In just one morning, more than 400m of the ditch was completed. Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung - a local resident, confided: "In the past, when this ditch did not exist, whenever it rained heavily, the corn field would be flooded because it could not drain... Now the people can produce with peace of mind. We are truly grateful to the soldiers."
Sergeant Trinh Doan Thang, from Company 10, Battalion 6, sang while working, making the atmosphere more exciting. Thang said: “This is the first time I have gone on a field trip to do mass mobilization work, so I am a bit bewildered. However, with the thorough instructions from cadres at all levels, I am very confident in completing all assigned tasks; helping the people with as many things as possible!”

Mr. Chu Van Que - Head of Hamlet 2, Lang Son Commune, took us to see the newly completed volleyball court to serve the people for entertainment and health training. Mr. Que excitedly shared: This is a project done by officers and soldiers of Regiment 335 and the people during the local mass mobilization. I am the village head, many times before the meeting, the people earnestly wanted to have a place for entertainment, but because the local economy is too limited, it is beyond their power. Since the new court was built with the support of the soldiers, every afternoon the people come to play in large numbers. We are very grateful to the officers and soldiers of Regiment 335.
Lang Son is a mountainous commune, the whole commune has 1,596 households, with 6,047 people, of which 104 households follow Catholicism (447 people), mainly concentrated in hamlets 1 and 2. During the field trip to do mass mobilization work, Regiment 335 organized 17 sessions to propagate the Party's directives and resolutions, the State's laws, ethnic and religious policies and build the cultural life of residential areas; nearly 10 mobile film screenings and cultural and artistic exchanges; upgraded and repaired 5.5km of inter-village roads, built a new volleyball court; dug and dredged 900m of intra-field canals, organized visits and gave gifts to 15 policy families and families with special difficulties, conducted medical examinations, treatment, and provided free medicine to 12 households...
The actions of the officers and soldiers of Regiment 335 during the mass mobilization campaign left good feelings in the hearts of the people in Ngoc Lam parish, contributing to beautifying the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers./.
