Previous studies recommended eating only three eggs a week because the high cholesterol in the yolk is bad for the heart, but now the recommendation is doubled.

According to Stuff Health, cNutrition consultant Angela Berrill says eggs have only a small impact on blood cholesterol levels.“There are more necessary changes that people should focus on. Such as increasing vegetable intake, eating safer foods, limiting processed foods and reducing saturated fat intake, not limiting egg intake,” the expert emphasized.

Eggs are an inexpensive source of protein and other nutrients such as carotenoids, vitamin D, B12, selenium and choline. It is important to pay special attention to the foods that are eaten with eggs.Other foods like bacon, sausages... on the listshould be avoided by people at risk of heart disease.

"Many people want to eat eggs with white bread, butter, salt or processed meats like bacon and sausage, which is not good for the heart,"Angela Berrill shares.

A heart-healthy diet includes minimally processed foods, vegetables and fruits. Whole grains, beans, nuts, healthy fat sources such as fish oil... are encouraged.
