Mr. Son: Urgently overcome the consequences after the storm

(Baonghean.vn) - Storm No. 2 has severely damaged many buildings, houses, trees and crops in Anh Son district. The government and people are making efforts to repair the damage.

Storm No. 2 has caused great damage in Anh Son district. According to the latest data, as of the morning of July 18, 2017, Anh Son district had 1,456.9 hectares of rice, corn, and various crops that were downed and flooded; 2,348 trees and urban shade trees were broken; 771 hectares of timber trees; 521.9 fruit trees; and 101.5 hectares of ponds and lakes were overflowed.

In particular, the storm also broke 182 electric poles; 302 houses and barns had their roofs blown off and were severely damaged; 70 meters of traffic roads were severely damaged by landslides; 370 meters of fences collapsed... causing traffic jams on all routes; in which the most severely damaged localities were the communes of Tao Son, Thach Son, Vinh Son, Linh Son, and Cao Son.

Immediately after the storm passed, Anh Son district established teams to directly go to the grassroots to inspect, grasp the situation and direct remedial measures such as requesting the district's Storm and Flood Prevention Command to deploy all remedial measures; localities mobilized all forces to help families whose houses were damaged to move to safe locations and soon stabilize their lives.

The agricultural sector and relevant agencies shall strengthen the direction and propaganda work to guide farmers on technical measures to care for and protect flooded rice and other crops, and fallen fruit trees; clear drainage systems in residential areas, ensure environmental sanitation, and prevent epidemics; clear roads damaged by fallen trees, and coordinate with the electricity sector to repair damaged power lines.

The district continues to monitor the development of post-storm circulation to have timely response plans.
