Poland receives $2 billion loan to buy US air defense and missile weapons
According to RIA Novosti, the Polish Ministry of Defense said that the US has allocated a loan worth 2 billion USD to Poland to purchase air defense weapons and missiles.

“Poland and the United States have signed an agreement on a direct loan under the Foreign Military Financing program in the amount of $2 billion,” the Polish Defense Ministry said in a statement on July 1.
The ministry also noted that this is the second loan granted by the US government to Poland in recent times.
The loan will be used to further strengthen Poland's defense potential by purchasing air defense and missile defense weapons from the United States, the Polish Defense Ministry said.
The Polish Ministry of Defense did not disclose the terms of the loan, saying only that it was signed on “very favorable financial terms.”
In March 2024, the Pentagon's Security Cooperation Agency said the US State Department had approved a possible sale to Poland of AGM-158B-2 long-range missiles and related equipment worth about $1.77 billion.
According to the US State Department, the Polish government has requested the possibility of purchasing up to 821 AGM-158B-2 Extended Range Missiles (JASSM-ER), as well as logistical support. The total estimated cost is $1.77 billion.
The Pentagon said the proposed sale would support U.S. national security and foreign policy objectives by enhancing the security of a NATO ally that is a vital force for political stability and economic progress in Europe.
In addition, the US State Department also approved the possible sale of 232 AIM-9X missiles and equipment to Warsaw for $219.1 million.
The United States has approved a possible sale of AIM-120C-8 medium-range air-to-air missiles and related equipment to Poland for approximately $1.69 billion.
