Three young men swam across the river, one went missing
While swimming across the Cho Dem River, a 22-year-old man drowned and sank. Ho Chi Minh City police and rescuers are currently conducting a search and rescue operation.
On the afternoon of March 25, people living near Cho Dem River (Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) saw three young men swimming across the river. Two of them were able to swim to the other side, but the 22-year-old man from Can Tho drowned and went missing.

Upon receiving the news, the rescue force of the Ho Chi Minh City Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department was present and deployed to search and rescue.
The representative of Binh Chanh District Fire Prevention and Fighting Police recorded the statements of the remaining two young men. Accordingly, the group of three young men went to the local swimming pool but the pool had no water.
The group went to the Cho Dem river bank together and swam across the river.
“The two young men swam first, and the victim swam later. When they looked back, their friend was gone,” the person added.
At 4:30 p.m. the same day, police were still diving to search for the missing person.
