Skin cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal skin cells. This is a common form of cancer but is easily treatable if detected early. To detect skin cancer, dermatologists use the ABCDE method to identify dangerous moles that have 2 halves that are asymmetrical (Asymmetry), irregular borders (Borders), more than one color (Color), a diameter larger than a pencil eraser (Diameter) and change over time (Evolving).
