Doctor wrote a confession letter at the scene of his wife's murder
In the house where he had just committed the murder, Hai sat drinking alcohol, wrote a note apologizing to his mother and admitted to killing his wife.
On September 10, Cao Bang Provincial Police said they were detaining Trieu Van Hai (42 years old) to clarify the act of killing his wife, Dang Thi Hieu (30 years old). Police also continued to search for Hieu's body.
According to the police, on August 31, Trieu Van Hung (Hai's younger brother) saw that his brother's house in Song Hien ward (Cao Bang city) was locked and unusually quiet, so he climbed through the attic door to get in. Inside the house, many items were disturbed, and there were many blood stains on the bed and bathroom.
Anh Hung later discovered a notebook on the dining table, in which his brother left a "heartfelt letter". Hai wrote that since marrying Hieu, the couple often had conflicts. Therefore, he killed his wife and also forgave her.c decided to end his life from here. At the end of the letter, Hai apologized to his mother.

After eight days of searching, on the evening of September 7, Cao Bang Provincial Police arrested Hai in Hanoi.
Hai confessed that at noon on August 30, during a fight, he pushed his wife to the ground, hitting her head, and then strangled her. Hai dragged Ms. Hieu's body to the bathroom to wash away the blood and then put it in a sack.
He thensat drinking and wrote a letter of confession. Around 24:00 that same day, Hai used a motorbike to carry the sack to Song Mang bridge (De Tham ward, Cao Bang city) to dispose of the evidence.Hai took his wife's motorbike and sold it for 11 million VND and then ran away.

According to local authorities,Hai graduated from medical college and worked at Nguyen Binh District Hospital.After marrying a female teacher and having two children, Hai returned to Hanoi and studied to become a specialist doctor for six years.
During this time, he fell in love with another woman. Along with previous conflicts, Hai's wife filed for divorce six times. In 2014, the two divorced.

Hai transferred to work at Cao Bang City General Hospital and met Ms. Hieu who worked at the Department of Agriculture of Cao Bang province.MonthApril 2018 Hai married Ms. Hieu and bought land to build a house in Cao Bang city.
Although newly married, the couple often quarrel. Ms. Hieu is planning to move to another place to live.
