Truong Sa Island doctors successfully treated a fisherman who had a stroke
(Baonghean.vn) - A male fisherman who was fishing in the Truong Sa archipelago suffered a stroke and was successfully treated by Truong Sa doctors.
Late afternoon on March 26, from Truong Sa island, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Xuan Chung, Commander of Truong Sa island, informed that the island's infirmary doctors had just successfully rescued fisherman Tran Thanh Tu, born in 1994, from Long Hai commune, Phu Quy district, Binh Thuan province, who wasstrokewhile working on fishing vessel BTh 98426 TS in the Truong Sa waters of Vietnam.

Before that, around 8:00 p.m. on March 25, the Medical CenterSpratly Islandreceived fisherman Tran Thanh Tu from 4 other fishermen of fishing boat BTh 98426 TS transferred to the island, in a state of left half body paralysis and loss of sensation, headache, blood pressure 110/60 mmHg, pulse 60 beats/minute.
The emergency team was deployed immediately. After examination, doctors determined that fisherman Tu had suffered a stroke in the right hemisphere at 12 hours. An urgent plan to rehydrate and provide electrolytes for the patient was implemented, along with a treatment regimen for quadriplegia.

After timely first aid, fisherman Tran Thanh Tu was able to move his limbs, was conscious and had good communication. Truong Sa doctors are still monitoring and treating him.
