Young Thai doctor promotes the effectiveness of Traditional Medicine
(Baonghean.vn) - Doctor La Van Khoi is a typical Thai youth of the young intellectuals in the Western Nghe An region. He is the only representative of ethnic minorities in Nghe An province to attend the 5th National Congress of Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings.
Dedicated to community service
These days, the small house of Mrs. Vi Thi Thao in Ke Nam (Chau Binh commune, Quy Chau district) seems to have less sadness because her paralyzed legs due to sciatica have almost recovered. That is the result after many days of her being examined and treated by young doctor La Van Khoi. It is worth mentioning that he does this completely free of charge.
Not only Mrs. Thao, over the years, many people have been examined and treated by Dr. La Van Khoi, many people in difficult circumstances have had their treatment costs completely exempted by him.

La Van Khoi was born and raised in a Thai ethnic family in Yen Hop commune (Quy Hop). More than anyone else, he understands the suffering and poverty of his fellow countrymen. Many people, because of poverty, have no money for medical treatment and have to seek help from shamans and sorcerers in vain.
Perhaps, that is why he chose to study medicine.
With all his determination, La Van Khoi passed the entrance exam and became an excellent student of the Vietnam Academy of Traditional Medicine. After graduating from university, he had many opportunities to stay in the city to work. But he still chose his hometown as the destination to devote his youth and intelligence.
When he returned to work, the facilities of the Northwest Nghe An Regional General Hospital had seriously degraded, while the number of patients was always overloaded. Seeing patients suffer many disadvantages during examination and treatment made him and the doctors and nurses of the hospital extremely worried.
At present, the hospital is maintaining a Youth Volunteer Club to support patients so that the hospital's doctors can strengthen their guidance and help patients during their treatment here. However, because the number of patients is too large, the doctors are having a hard time completing their tasks, so arranging for members to come out to support seems impossible.

As Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, he pioneered this work. Every day, after work, he went to the examination area to help patients. From there, he mobilized more members, who were young doctors and nurses in the hospital, to join. Over time, the Club now has 101 members and he is the chairman. On average, each day he and the club members help nearly 1,000 patients to have convenient medical examinations, reducing waiting time and overload.
Along with that, the Live Blood Bank Club that he is the head of also operates very effectively, helping many patients with serious illnesses regain their lives. He himself has also donated blood to rescue patients from critical conditions.
At the same time, he is also the leader of the Young Doctors Club of Thai Hoa town when he takes the initiative in activities of examining, consulting and distributing medicine to communes in difficult areas, border areas...

In 2016, he completed the scientific research topic "Initial evaluation of the treatment results of peripheral facial nerve palsy caused by cold at the Northwest Nghe An Regional General Hospital". This topic was highly appreciated for the effectiveness of acupuncture on facial nerve palsy using acupuncture. Thereby, he was awarded the title of Emulation Fighter by the Nghe An Department of Health. In 2017, he deployed and applied the steam bath and cupping method in the treatment of diseases at the Department of Traditional Medicine and achieved very positive treatment results.
With those achievements, he was honored to be recognized as a young doctor of the province, and at the same time, he was the only representative of the province's ethnic minorities to attend the 5th National Congress of Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings held this May.
