The Provincial Traffic Safety Committee plays an important role in disseminating traffic safety laws to students. Through many programs in coordination with schools and related units, it has helped students form habits and awareness of obeying the Road Traffic Law right from the beginning of participating in traffic, building traffic culture early.

Diversified forms of propaganda

Recently, at 1-5 High School (Nghia Dan), the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee coordinated with relevant units to organize a program to propagate laws on traffic safety and order in 2024. The program attracted the enthusiastic participation of nearly 1,400 students along with a large number of teachers and parents.

At the propaganda session, students were equipped with knowledge of traffic laws through useful activities such as answering questions and practicing safe vehicle driving skills. In particular, representatives of the Traffic Police shared real-life situations of traffic accidents, emphasizing the serious consequences of violations such as not wearing helmets, running red lights, not obeying traffic signals or using phones while driving. The program not only helps students raise awareness and responsibility when participating in traffic but also encourages the spirit of voluntarily obeying the law, contributing to building a safe and civilized traffic environment.

Previously, a meaningful helmet donation ceremony was held at Hung Dung Primary School (Vinh City). Here, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee donated nearly 66,000 standard helmets to first-grade students across the province in the 2024-2025 school year, with the theme "Keeping the Dream".The program is not only an opportunity for students to receive quality helmets but also helps them understand the importance of wearing helmets properly, thereby raising awareness of self-protection when participating in traffic.

At the same time, through the program, the Organizing Committee wants to convey a profound message about forming a culture of safe traffic for students from an early age. This is a concrete step to reduce traffic accidents in the future, and at the same time, contribute to building a young generation with awareness and responsibility for traffic safety from an early age.

Nguyen Trung Kien - a 5th grade student at Hung Dung Primary School said: "At the helmet donation ceremony, we were also informed, through which we understood that wearing a helmet is one of the simple but very effective ways to minimize serious consequences if an accident unfortunately occurs. I also realized that, not only helmets but also many other regulations must be strictly followed such as not running red lights, not pushing, not speeding, not overtaking recklessly... If everyone followed those rules, traffic accidents would be less, and we would have a safer traffic environment".

Continue propaganda at all levels of education

Raising awareness of traffic safety for students is not only the task of the school, but also the responsibility of the whole society. Students are the ones who will continue to spread traffic safety values to their families and communities. Therefore, promoting traffic safety among students will help them form the habit and awareness of obeying traffic laws right from the beginning of participating in traffic. This is a long-term solution to reduce traffic accidents and create a safe traffic society.

Mr. Phan Huy Chuong - Deputy Head of the Traffic Safety Committee of Nghe An province

In 2024, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee coordinated with departments, branches, organizations and social organizations to widely disseminate traffic safety laws and culture to the people in many diverse forms, suitable for each target group. Continuing to coordinate with Honda Vietnam Company to donate nearly 66,000 helmets to first graders in the 2024-2025 school year...

In the coming time, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee will continue to carry out traffic safety propaganda activities for students at all levels, from primary to high school. One of the important goals is to continue to replicate the model of giving standard helmets to students, not only helping them protect themselves but also creating a habit of voluntarily wearing helmets when participating in traffic.

At the same time, continue to coordinate with the Department of Education and Training to promote propaganda activities in schools according to Directive No. 31/CT-TTg dated December 21, 2023 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the work of ensuring order and traffic safety for school-age children in the new situation. Accordingly, traffic safety content will be included in the official curriculum, combined with organizing extracurricular activities, experiential activities, simulating traffic situations, competitions, and campaigns to mobilize students to wear helmets and comply with the Road Traffic Law when participating in traffic, in order to raise students' awareness of practice and responsibility.

At the same time, schools are encouraged to develop new models and initiatives in traffic safety propaganda such as the "Safe School Gate" model, "Traffic Safety Propaganda Team", self-managed student groups on traffic safety, etc.," Mr. Phan Huy Chuong emphasized.
