Nghe An Provincial Foreign Information Steering Committee offers incense to commemorate Vice President Nguyen Sinh Sac
On November 7, during a working trip to the southern provinces, a delegation of the Foreign Information Steering Committee of Nghe An province offered incense and commemorated Vice President Nguyen Sinh Sac at the Nguyen Sinh Sac National Special Relic Site in Dong Thap province.
On the S-shaped strip of land, there are few relationships as sacred and profound as between Nghe An and Dong Thap. If Nghe An is the hometown of Mr. Pho Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac - the father of President Ho Chi Minh, then Dong Thap is the place he chose as his final homeland, living in harmony, closeness and sharing with the people of the lotus land.

The relic site of Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac, Vice President of the Nguyen Dynasty, is a unique cultural and historical work, ranked as a special National Monument, not only the resting place of President Ho Chi Minh's father but also a vivid symbol of the tradition of studiousness, patriotism and the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source".
Born in Nam Dan (Nghe An), in the last years of his life, he chose Hoa An village (Cao Lanh) as his place of residence. He taught, prescribed medicine, shared difficulties with the people and was loved by the people as a family member. When he passed away in 1929, the local people voluntarily took care of him and burned incense at his grave with all their respect.
After the country's reunification in 1975, the Party Committee and people of Dong Thap started construction of the relic site, which was inaugurated in 1977. After nearly half a century, this place has become a sacred destination, welcoming millions of tourists, students, and people from all over the country to come to pay their respects and commemorate.
According to Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Sang - Deputy Director of the Management Board of Nguyen Sinh Sac Relic Site, the death anniversary of the founder is held annually on the 27th day of the 10th lunar month with many activities imbued with the cultural identity of the land of pink lotus. The solemn ceremony is combined with the warm festival - where people wrap banh tet, make banh phu the, display the offerings, expressing their gratitude to their ancestors.

“The death anniversary is not only a commemorative ceremony, but has become an occasion to gather emotions and arouse pride in the traditional morality of the nation. Every year, tens of thousands of pilgrims, including many groups from Nghe An, contribute to deepening the cultural and spiritual connection between the two localities,” Ms. Sang shared.
During the war years, despite the hardships of life, the people of Hoa An commune still took turns taking care of Nguyen Sinh Sac's grave, keeping the flame of gratitude alive through each generation. That tradition continues to this day, so that the anniversary of his death is not only a day of remembrance but also a cultural and spiritual festival of Dong Thap.

At the incense offering ceremony, comrade Pham Ngoc Canh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department expressed his emotion when he came to offer incense in memory of Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac. Comrade Pham Ngoc Canh emphasized: "This working trip is not only an occasion to show gratitude, but also an opportunity for the two localities to continue to strengthen cooperation in propaganda work, traditional education and promotion of the cultural and historical heritage values of the nation. Thereby, contributing to strengthening the relationship between the two lands - the birthplace and resting place of Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac".
The affection between the two homelands - one side is the land of learning, Nghe An, the other side is the land of pink lotus, Dong Thap - has always been nurtured by visits, respectful incense sticks and meaningful cultural and historical exchange and cooperation programs.
