The Central Organizing Committee does not receive people coming to wish them a happy New Year. The Committee's leaders only visit retirees and policy beneficiaries.

On February 1, a sign was placed at the entrance of the Central Organizing Committee headquarters saying "No visitors coming to wish you a Happy New Year". Chief of Staff Hoang Trong Hung said that the sign placed at the entrance clearly shows the Central Organizing Committee's stance of only welcoming people to work, not people coming to wish you a Happy New Year.

"The Board's leaders only visit retirees and policy beneficiaries, meaning that the superiors do not wish the subordinates anything and the subordinates do not wish the superiors anything," said Mr. Hung.

According to the Chief of Office of the Central Organizing Committee, the placement of notice boards has been carried out since Tet 2017, to concretize Directive 16 of the Secretariat.

Directive 16 regulates the organization of Tet in 2018. Accordingly, the Secretariat requests that leaders of the Party, State, central agencies, departments, branches and organizations not visit and wish Tet to local leaders; localities do not wish Tet to superiors and the Central Government.

The Directive clearly states the prohibition of giving or receiving Tet gifts to superiors, superiors "taking advantage" of subordinates in any form; strictly prohibiting the use of public budget, means, and assets for personal activities during Tet and holidays.i
