(Baonghean.vn) - The Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Committee frankly acknowledged shortcomings and limitations in performing tasks in the first 6 months of the year, drawing lessons for the last months of the year.

In the first half of 2017, to prepare for the fourth session of the 7th Provincial People's Council, the Committee for Culture and Society joined the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council in preparing the content and agenda of the session, proposing questions; reviewing and synthesizing the Committee's recommendations after supervision from the beginning of the term until now and the implementation of the conclusions of the questions at the previous session of the functional sectors; preparing reports to submit to the session, etc.

In addition, the Committee has reviewed and coordinated the review of reports, submissions, and draft resolutions submitted to the fourth session of the Provincial People's Council, and implemented thematic supervision of the implementation of policies and regimes for sports activities in the province, and surveyed three topics: planning the network of schools, classes, and activities of non-public schools; the implementation of recommendations on the results of monitoring the State management of historical and cultural relics in the province and the implementation of the Law on Physical Education and Sports at the request of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children...

In addition, leaders and members of the Culture - Social Committee also participated in monitoring and survey delegations of the National Assembly's Committee on Social Affairs, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, and the Legal Committee and the Ethnic Committee of the Provincial People's Council.

The activities of the Board in the first 6 months of the year basically ensured quality, the members basically promoted the responsibility of delegates, the majority actively and effectively participated in the Board's activities.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Hoang Viet Duong acknowledged the efforts of the Committee to successfully complete its tasks in difficult circumstances due to personnel changes, and assessed that the Committee had successfully completed the monitoring program, ensuring high quality and efficiency, actively participating in activities and working sessions of the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee, coordinating with other committees and the Provincial People's Council Office to carry out common tasks.

However, he also pointed out some shortcomings and requested that the recommendations for the committee's supervision and survey must be more specific and clearer, avoiding general recommendations that make it difficult for those who receive, report, and explain. Members need to allocate more time to participate in supervision and survey activities, and better connect with leaders of local People's Councils when the committee returns to work.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Ho Phuc Hop accepted the comments and directions of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, requesting members to promptly make corrections and amendments. At the same time, the Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Committee also requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and the committees of the Provincial People's Council to create favorable conditions and coordinate so that the Committee can successfully complete its tasks in the second half of 2017.
