Night robbery gang causing public panic in Nghe An falls into the net

On April 29, Hung Nguyen District Police temporarily detained Dau Van Chien (23 years old) and Phan Van Khai (14 years old, both residing in Block 5, Hung Nguyen Town) for robbery. Khai and Chien are the perpetrators of at least 6 robberies in just the past 5 days in Vinh City, Nam Dan and Hung Nguyen (from April 24 to 28).

Previously, on April 28 alone, the District Police Investigation Agency received three consecutive reports from citizens about property robbery. Specifically, Ms. DTD (32 years old, residing in Hung Chinh commune) said that late on April 24, while riding a bicycle on National Highway 46A, two men on a motorbike approached and robbed her handbag containing a phone and some personal papers. Ms. BTT (33 years old, residing in Nam Dan district) said that at around 8:30 p.m. on April 25, while riding a motorbike on National Highway 46C (in Long Xa commune, Hung Nguyen district), two strange young men on a motorbike approached and robbed a handbag containing 6 million VND in cash and some personal papers.

In addition, another victim, Ms. TTH (Nam Giang commune, Nam Dan district) reported that at about 9:00 p.m. on April 27, while riding a motorbike on National Highway 1A avoiding Vinh City (section passing through Hung Dao commune, Hung Nguyen district), two strange young men on a motorbike approached and snatched a handbag containing 1.4 million VND and a mobile phone.

After receiving the report, Hung Nguyen District Police immediately deployed professional measures to arrest the perpetrator.

After just one night of investigation, on the morning of April 29, Khai and Tien were arrested by the police. At the police station, both confessed to committing the above robberies. In addition, they also confessed to being the perpetrators of 3 other robberies in the area within the past few days. Searching the residence, the police seized the vehicle used to commit the crime and many properties that the group had robbed but had not yet been able to sell.

The case is being further investigated by the Hung Nguyen District Police. In addition, the investigation agency also informed those who were victims of property robberies in Hung Nguyen and neighboring areas to report to the nearest police agency for coordination in the investigation.

According to Hung Nguyen District Police, this is the robbery gang that has caused panic in the locality and surrounding areas recently. This group often commits crimes on National Highway 1A avoiding Vinh, National Highway 46A, 46B, 46C passing through Hung Nguyen, Nam Dan districts, Vinh city... Accordingly, before receiving the victim's report, Hung Nguyen District Police also grasped information that in the locality and surrounding areas, robberies of a very complicated and dangerous nature were constantly occurring. This robbery gang was reckless and daring in attacking the victims, causing panic and fear among traffic participants as well as public outrage among the masses...

The district police have directed and requested professional teams to coordinate with the police of 18/18 communes and towns to urgently deploy preventive measures and propaganda to make people vigilant and participate in reporting crimes. At the same time, mobilize maximum forces to organize night patrols on key roads and areas, organize verification, search, and set up suspects... However, because the traces left at the crime scene of the cases are very limited, the robbers use many sophisticated methods and tricks to deceive the authorities... so the process of deploying professional measures to grasp the situation of the police force initially encountered many difficulties.
