Minister of Transport Truong Quang Nghia has just signed a decision to issue a plan to better serve people's travel needs, ensuring traffic order and safety during the New Year, Lunar New Year and the Dinh Dau Spring festival season of 2017.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Transport requested the Vietnam Road Administration, specialized management departments, transport departments, corporations and units... to urgently establish a steering committee to serve people's travel needs well, ensure traffic order and safety during the New Year, Lunar New Year and the 2017 festival season.

For the staff agencies under the Ministry, it is necessary to assign on-duty schedules for leaders and specialists to implement, and at the same time, make a list and assign leaders and specialists on duty on the above occasions.

The functional units shall announce the hotline number and be available 24/7 to receive and process information related to their tasks; synthesize reports on the contents of reflections and send them to the Ministry of Transport and the National Traffic Safety Committee to facilitate information exchange and coordination in handling daily work during the New Year and Lunar New Year 2017.

In addition, units develop transport service plans to ensure timely response when transport demand increases, especially at traffic hubs, ensuring passenger clearance and minimizing traffic congestion; plans to check transport safety conditions; ensuring convenient and safe travel for officials, people, students.

In particular, the transport sector ensures that passengers are not delayed in returning home for Tet due to lack of means of transport.

The Minister of Transport also requested relevant agencies to direct transport businesses to proactively sell tickets in advance to passengers in various forms and apply information technology, creating convenience for people who need to buy tickets; take measures to prevent ticket speculation and trading that cause social disorder; continue to effectively implement and promote the "4 requests, 4 always" movement throughout the industry.

The Ministry Inspectorate directs and guides specialized inspection forces to strengthen inspection and examination during the New Year, Lunar New Year and the Dinh Dau Spring festival season of 2017.

This unit also coordinates with the Department of Transport, the Vietnam Road Administration, and the departments and agencies of transport to inspect or organize surprise inspections of the implementation of the plan on the above occasions.
