Military Region 4 Museum receives artifacts donated by martyrs' families
(Baonghean.vn) - The artifacts are 10 letters that martyr Nguyen Van Kien wrote while fighting on the battlefield and sent to his wife and daughter in his hometown.
On July 14, the Military Region 4 Museum held a ceremony to receive artifacts donated by the family of martyr Nguyen Van Kien (from Nam Cat commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province).
The artifact consists of 10 letters that the martyr wrote while fighting on the battlefield and sent to his wife and daughter. They have profound historical value and contribute to educating the tradition of patriotism for today's and future generations.

Martyr Nguyen Van Kien was born in 1944, a native of Nam Cat, Nam Dan district (Nghe An). In May 1970, he married Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien Luong, an employee of a mechanical factory in Vinh city.
In November 1970, soldier Kien was tasked with transporting food to the battlefield. After training in Thanh Hoa, in December 1971, the soldier went to the South to fight. On April 29, 1975, when there was only 1 day left to liberate the South and unify the country, soldier Nguyen Van Kien heroically sacrificed himself. After 35 years of searching, the martyr's grave was found in Tay Ninh Provincial Cemetery and was exhumed and brought back to his hometown by his family in 2009.

The representative of the martyr’s family spoke at the donation ceremony, moved when recalling the sacrifice of martyr Nguyen Van Kien that contributed to the independence of the nation. At the same time, they admired the hard work, devotion to her husband, raising children and preserving the precious letters of the martyr’s wife. The martyr’s relatives wanted the museum to preserve the historical values of the martyr’s letters.
Receiving the artifacts from the martyr's family, Major Gian Viet Xuan - Deputy Director of the Museum of Military Region 4 shared that the relics of martyr Nguyen Van Kien have profound historical value, contributing to educating the tradition of patriotism for young generations today and tomorrow.
“The Museum of Military Region 4 would like to express our gratitude for the great contributions of martyr Nguyen Van Kien and sincerely thank the family of the martyr. At the same time, we promise to promote the historical and cultural values of these relics,” Major Xuan emphasized.
