Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television won 2 prizes at the National Press Awards with the theme 'For National Security and Peaceful Life'

On the evening of August 13, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security presided over and coordinated with the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize the National Press Awards Ceremony with the theme "For National Security and Peaceful Life" for the period 2023 - 2025.

Attending the award ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Nguyen Xuan Thang - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To - Party Central Committee member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security - Head of the Steering Committee of the Press Awards; Le Quoc Minh - Party Central Committee member, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association - co-organizer.

Also attending were representatives of central ministries and branches.

The “For National Security and Peaceful Life” Press Award is organized by the Ministry of Public Security in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists Association. The Award was first held in 1995, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the People’s Public Security Tradition Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 1995). Up to now, the Award has become a prestigious regular activity, held every two years.

This is not only a professional playground for journalists, but also a place to honor the image of People's Public Security soldiers, spread humanistic and righteous values ​​and contribute to building social trust in the work of maintaining security and order.

In 2025, the Award is of great significance, being one of the outstanding activities towards the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Tradition Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025).

Immediately after launching, the Organizing Committee received strong response from central and local press agencies, police units, localities, professional departments, academies, police schools, and thousands of professional journalists and reporters.

Notably, all 34/34 provincial and municipal police departments and 64 press agencies nationwide submitted entries. As of June 3, 2025, the Organizing Committee has received nearly 1,300 entries, in print, electronic, radio, television and photojournalism - nearly 3 times more than the previous season.

After a thorough review, appraisal and evaluation process, the Preliminary Council of the National Press Award "For National Security and Peaceful Life" 2023-2025 selected 152 excellent works for the Final round. The jury selected 6 works to win the A Prize, 12 works to win the B Prize, 19 works to win the C Prize, and 35 works to win the Encouragement Prize.

Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television had 2 award-winning works, of which the television work "Stories told by the Pu Lom peak" by the group of authors Ngoc Dung - Lang Linh - Thanh Nga won the C Prize; the electronic newspaper work with the series of articles "Promoting the effectiveness of replicating the project "drug-free border commune" by authors Chu Thi Khanh Ly - Dang Ngoc Cuong won the Encouragement Prize.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission affirmed: The National Press Award "For National Security and Peaceful Life" is an activity of profound political and social significance, contributing significantly to the propaganda and dissemination of the image of the People's Public Security soldiers who forget themselves for the country and serve the people. Thereby, not only arousing the sense of responsibility, pride and dedication of the press team but also raising awareness and strengthening people's trust in the cause of protecting national security and maintaining social order and safety.

He requested that press agencies and journalists nationwide continue to promote their vanguard role on the ideological and cultural front, intensify the dissemination of advanced examples, good models, and effective practices in the movement for the entire people to protect national security, contributing to building a solid people's position, maintaining political stability, order, and social security in the new situation.
