Security guard at Nghe An Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital is in critical condition

(Baonghean.vn) - After being given emergency aid, Mr. Lo Minh Huong - Security guard at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital was transferred to the Provincial General Hospital with a poor prognosis.

As reported by Nghe An Newspaper: At 7:45 this morning (June 30), a fight broke out at the parking lot of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. A patient's family member used a sharp knife to stab the hospital security guard, Mr. Lo Minh Huong (born in 1957), 4 times.

After being stabbed, Mr. Huong ran into the hospital's examination room lobby to call for help and passed out, losing a lot of blood.

Mr. Huong had four serious injuries: one in the abdomen, two in the ribs, and one in the neck. The stab wound in the neck severed the carotid artery; two stab wounds in the ribs punctured the lungs and heart.

Immediately, Mr. Lo Minh Huong was taken to the emergency operating room. 50 doctors, nurses and hospital staff donated 50 units of blood and 19 red blood cells for emergency blood transfusion.

By 11 o'clock, the victim's emergency treatment was basically completed: The injuries to the heart and chest were sutured; the injuries to the lungs were fitted with drainage tubes... Mr. Lo Minh Huong was transferred from the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital to the Provincial General Hospital where there is emergency resuscitation equipment for adults.

Doctor Dau Anh Trung - who directly treated the victim - said: Lo Minh Huong's health is still very bad with many critical prognoses: One is due to excessive blood loss, requiring multiple blood transfusions, which can easily cause blood clotting disorders; two is due to the introduction of too much foreign blood, leading to poor kidney function and poor filtration; three is from the time of being stabbed until the wound was sutured to the blood supply to the brain, the time was more than 3 minutes, leading to a lack of oxygen in the brain.

Information from the Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital and the Hospital Security Company said: The person who stabbed Mr. Lo Minh Huong has a child being treated at the hospital's Intensive Care Unit. This person's child has hydrocephalus (malformation) and pneumonia.

The person who stabbed Mr. Lo Minh Huong showed many signs of drug use. The day before the incident, the hospital security team invited this person to meet and talk./.
