Arrested 39 subjects gambling on a large scale in the forest

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 12, Lieutenant Colonel Dao Van Khoi - Captain of the General Investigation Team, Quynh Luu District Police said: After nearly half a month of surveillance and ambush, Quynh Luu District Police raided and caught the subjects gambling in the forest on a large scale.

Accordingly, through reconnaissance work in Tan Thang commune, there were a number of subjects who regularly organized gambling, Quynh Luu district police have established a case to fight against gambling crimes in the area. At 1:30 am on November 11, the district police deployed 03 working groups to arrest the gambling case in the form of "dice shaking" in the Da Bac hill and mountain area in hamlet 6, Youth Union Team of Tan Thang commune, Quynh Luu district.

Because the gambling area is located on a mountain top, covered by trees and guarded by guards, it is very difficult to move and monitor the subjects. However, with professional measures, the Special Task Force - Quynh Luu District Police mobilized 12 comrades to surround the group of subjects when there was any movement. While the subjects were busy gambling, Quynh Luu District Police raided and arrested 39 subjects, confiscating at the scene 43 mobile phones, 210 million VND and some related evidence such as: discs, cards, batteries, electric wires, scoreboards...

The investigation team counted the evidence seized from a large-scale gambling case in the forest at Hamlet 6, Youth Volunteer Force Team of Tan Thang Commune (Quynh Luu).

After collecting all the evidence of the crime, the above subjects were taken to the Quynh Luu District Police Station for temporary detention. Through initial investigation, the gambling group usually resides in Quynh Luu, Nghia Dan, Dien Chau districts, Thai Hoa town and Hoang Mai. To organize gambling in the forest, the subjects used a 30-seat passenger car, a 7-seat car and 2 taxis as means of transportation. Of the 39 subjects arrested, 23 were from Quynh Luu; 06 subjects resided in Hoang Mai; 08 subjects resided in Thai Hoa and 02 subjects resided in Nghia Dan district.

Lieutenant Colonel Dao Van Khoi - Head of the Investigation Team of Quynh Luu District Police said: This is a large-scale gambling case in terms of the number of people and the amount of money. In addition, the subjects were very cunning when choosing a rugged mountainous area to organize gambling, causing difficulties for investigation and solving the case.
