Police officer arrested for stealing many guns and selling them for hundreds of millions
During his shift, Nguyen Minh Chien stole many guns from his unit and sold them for money. Chien's actions were discovered and he was prosecuted and temporarily detained.
Lieutenant Colonel Bui Trong Tuan - Chief of Staff of Dak Lak Provincial Police, confirmed that he is investigating this case.
On May 3, a source from the Dak Lak Provincial People's Procuracy said that it had approved an order to temporarily detain Nguyen Minh Chien (32 years old, police officer of Krong Bong district) for the act of appropriating and illegally trading military weapons.
According to the initial investigation, during a shift in February 2017, Mr. Chien used a key (made from the key of the officer in charge of managing weapons and support tools of the Krong Bong District Police) to break into the district police armory and take 2 K59 guns, 1 CZ75 gun, 1 K54 gun and bullets for these guns.

After getting the gun, Chien sold it to Mr. VTD (39 years old, residing in Cu Ebur commune, Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak) for more than 100 million VND and used this money to pay off the debt for D's wife.
In October 2017, Chien continued to break into the police armory of this district to steal a CZ83 and bullets, then through NVĐ. (Chien's acquaintance - whose identity and background are currently unknown) sold it for 25 million VND.
