Arrest of subject trafficking 76 kg of firecrackers

Police in Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province, have just arrested a subject trafficking 76 kg of firecrackers originating from China.

At around 7:00 p.m. on October 6, 2016, Duc Tho District Police discovered and caught Tran Quoc Toan (born in 1971, from Truong Son Commune, Duc Tho District) selling firecrackers to another person.

The investigation agency searched and seized evidence hidden by the subject at home.

At the scene, Duc Tho District Police seized 30 boxes of firecrackers weighing 44kg. Continuing to carry out professional measures and search the private house, the investigation agency seized another 22 boxes of firecrackers weighing 32kg. All of these firecrackers originated from China.

Before the investigation agency, Tran Quoc Toan confessed to buying 52 boxes of firecrackers from a passenger transport company from Ha Tinh to Laos and then bringing them home to hide and sell for profit.

At the time Toan used a motorbike (license plate 38D1-02462) to transport fireworks to sell to a stranger on the Lien Minh-Truong Son dike, he was suddenly discovered and arrested by the police.

The case is currently being investigated by Duc Tho District Police and the case file is being completed for handling according to the provisions of law./.
