According to the case file, recently, the Criminal Police Department of the Provincial Police has continuously received reports from many people and business owners with the content that a subject used the phone to call and claimed to be a Traffic Police or Economic Police of the Dak Lak Provincial Police to defraud and appropriate money.

Upon receiving the report, Dak Lak police investigated, verified and quickly clarified that the subject impersonating a police officer and defrauding and appropriating property was Le Minh Hung. However, at this time, Hung was not present in the locality. From the collected documents, the police determined that Hung was hiding in Svay Rieng province (Kingdom of Cambodia). On (February 10), a working group of Dak Lak Provincial Police coordinated with the Border Guard force of Long An province and Svay Rieng Provincial Police to successfully arrest Hung.
Working with the police, Hung initially confessed that due to losing football bets during the 2022 World Cup, leading to debt and being unable to pay, he pretended to be a police officer to defraud and appropriate property from many people. Hung has defrauded more than 20 victims, taking over 150,000,000 VND. After defrauding the money, Hung fled to Cambodia to gamble and was arrested.
The Dak Lak Provincial Police are expanding the investigation into the case, completing the file, and handling Hung according to the provisions of law; at the same time, the victims are notified to the Criminal Police Department of Dak Lak Provincial Police for guidance on how to handle the case./.
