(Baonghean.vn) - A 58-year-old man with 3 criminal records hired a taxi to the border area of Thanh Thuy commune, Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An province to buy 4 kg of crystal meth. On the way back, he was caught.
Through the work of grasping the situation, in early December 2022, Hung Nguyen District Police discovered that Nguyen Van Canh (born in 1966), residing in Bac Ke Gai hamlet, Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district, was connecting with a number of subjects inside and outside the area with signs of drug crimes.

On December 20, after collecting information about the subject, the policeestablish a projectto combat the illegal buying, selling and storing of drugs in the area. After a period of using professional measures, and determining that the opportunity to solve the case was ripe, on February 5, 2023, the Special Investigation Committee of Hung Nguyen District Police decided to break the case and arrest Nguyen Van Canh while transporting 4 kg of crystal meth in Hung Dong Commune, Vinh City.

At the investigation agency, Nguyen Van Canh confessed to his illegal drug trafficking. He had one previous conviction for illegal drug trafficking, one for theft, and one for gambling and was under the management of the District Police.
Currently, Hung Nguyen District Police are detaining the subject for investigation and handling according to the law./.
