Ceremony to receive, pay respects and bury the remains of martyr Luu Van Hung in Dai Dong commune
On August 17, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dai Dong commune (Nghe An province) held a ceremony to receive, pay tribute to, and bury the remains of martyr Luu Van Hung in Phat Son village, Dai Dong commune.
Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Nghe An province, the Defense Command of Region 5 - Anh Son and leaders of Dai Dong commune.

Martyr Luu Van Hung, born in 1964, is from Thanh Tuong commune (now Dai Dong commune), Nghe An province. He is the eldest son of Mr. Luu Van Quy and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Loan. In February 1982, he volunteered to join Battalion 27, Division 309, Command 479, with the rank of Sergeant Major, holding the position of Deputy Platoon Leader.

During the resistance war against the brutal genocide of the Pol Pot regime in Cambodia, he and his comrades fought fiercely under the rain of bombs and bullets and won victory after victory... On November 25, 1984, during a raid on the remnants of Pol Pot's army, comrade Luu Van Hung heroically sacrificed himself on the Ta Co battlefield, Bat Tam Boong, Cambodia.

With his great contributions and sacrifices for the Fatherland, martyr Luu Van Hung was posthumously awarded the Third Class Military Exploit Medal by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; and was awarded the Certificate of National Merit by the Party and State on May 14, 1986.
In the sacred atmosphere, the delegates offered flowers, incense and observed a moment of silence before the spirit of martyr Luu Van Hung to commemorate his great contributions in blood and bones, fighting and heroically sacrificing for the cause of national liberation, national reunification and noble international duty. The martyr's sacrifice contributed to fostering the solidarity, friendship and close cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.
The memorial service and burial of the martyrs' remains took place in a solemn and respectful atmosphere, expressing the deep gratitude of the Party, government and people for the great contributions of the homeland's outstanding son./.
