Arrested 3 subjects for trafficking women and girls to China

On August 23, the Investigation Police Agency of Tuong Duong District Police announced that the unit has just issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute 3 suspects: Oc Thi Phong (born in 1981, residing in Bon village, Yen Na commune, Tuong Duong district); Vi Thi Ba (born in 1987) and Kha Thi Thiem (born in 1984), both residing in Vang Cuon village, Yen Tinh commune, Tuong Duong district to investigate the act of Human trafficking.

Previously, Tuong Duong District Police discovered that a subject named Thuy (from Yen Na Commune, Tuong Duong District) married a Chinese man, then returned to Vietnam to connect with Oc Thi Phong to find women to sell.

The room then, together with Vi Thi Ba and Kha Thi Thiem, searched for, approached, and lured young girls or older women who wanted to "change their lives" to China.

In June 2019, Tuong Duong District Police received a report from a family in Huoi Bai village, Yen Tinh commune, Tuong Duong district about their daughter, Lo TH (born 1994), being tricked and sold to China.

Using professional measures and coordinating with other functional forces, Tuong Duong District Police successfully rescued Ms. Lo TH and brought her back home safely. The victim's family then filed a complaint against the subjects to the police.

After collecting enough evidence and documents, on August 18, discovering that Oc Thi Phong, Vi Thi Ba and Kha Thi Thiem were present at Phong's house, Tuong Duong District Police raided and successfully arrested the three subjects.

At the police station, Oc Thi Phong, Vi Thi Ba and Kha Thi Thiem admitted to selling H. to China for 80,000 yuan (about 200 million VND).

Phong also confessed that he had colluded with a number of Vietnamese people in China to lure ethnic minority women and girls to China to get married.

If they are young and beautiful girls, they will be sold for about 80,000 yuan (more than 200 million VND); if they are older women, they will only be sold for about 30,000 yuan (about 80 million VND). For each person sold, Phong will receive 10 million VND, while Ba and Thiem will receive 6 million VND.
