Arrested 2 subjects using Facebook to spread propaganda against the State

Regarding the case of two subjects in Ho Chi Minh City and Thai Nguyen who were recently arrested by the Ministry of Public Security to investigate the crime of "Propaganda against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam", initially, through the struggle of the functional forces and the evidence seized, the subjects admitted their criminal acts and their connections with reactionary and opposing organizations and individuals outside to conduct anti-State activities.

Investigation results determined that since May 2015, Bui Hieu Vo (55 years old, residing at P11-01, Lot C, Ha Do Apartment, Nguyen Van Cong Street, Ward 3, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City) created a Facebook account "Hieu Bui" posting many fabricated, distorted, defamatory information aimed at opposing the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, inciting activities to disrupt security, order and violence.

Bui Hieu Vo incited the use of petrol bombs and acid to attack Party and State leaders and police forces.

During his activities, Bui Hieu Vo connected with members of the reactionary organization Viet Tan abroad to discuss, exchange and jointly manage the Facebook page "Hieu Bui."

In addition, Bui Hieu Vo also sent a number of articles with bad content to reactionary websites outside.

Phan Kim Khanh (24 years old, from Phu Tho, arrested by the Ministry of Public Security and Thai Nguyen Provincial Police on March 21) created and managed two blogs, three pages on Facebook and two channels on Youtube, continuously posting many fabricated and distorted information against the State.

Currently, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Security Investigation Agency is continuing to investigate and soon bring the subject to legal responsibility./.
