Arrest of 3 subjects using guns to "extort" land auction commissions in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn)- Hoang Mai Town Police and the Department of Investigation Police on Social Order Crimes of Nghe An Province Police have just coordinated to investigate and arrest 03 subjects who used guns to threaten and demand commission from land auction winners in Quynh Thien Ward (Hoang Mai Town).

The investigation clarified: on March 5, the People's Committee of Quynh Thien Ward organized an auction to sell land in the ward. During the auction, some strangers came to ask for "commission" from the people who won the auction.

Due to conflicts and disagreements in demanding commissions, a fight broke out between this group of people and some residents of Quynh Thien ward. One of the group used a gun to fire 3 shots, causing chaos and fear among the people.

Three suspects were detained at the investigation agency.

After that, this group of people got into a car and drove towards Hoang Mai - Vinh City. Upon receiving the report, Hoang Mai Town Police deployed forces to the scene to collect information and statements from people present at the scene, conduct a crime scene investigation, and confiscate 02 spent bullet shells. At the same time, they decided to prosecute the case of disturbing public order.

Through verification and investigation, Hoang Mai Town Police confirmed that the subjects including Nguyen Phi Long (born 1988), Nguyen Duy Thong (born 1991) and Hoang Khac Vinh (born 1970) all reside in Vinh City.

On March 12, 2016, the three suspects Long, Thong, and Vinh surrendered and handed over an RG88 gun, containing a magazine and one bullet.

Initially, the group of subjects confessed that on March 5, when they came to the People's Committee of Quynh Thien Ward to bid and learned that some people had won the bid, the group demanded commission from some of the auction winners, causing conflicts and disagreements. The 3 subjects used bricks and stones to fight back, then used a gun to shoot 3 times to threaten the people.

Hoang Mai town police are continuing to expand the investigation, collect documents and evidence to prosecute the accused to quickly bring the subject to strict punishment according to the law.
