Arrest of poultry transportation of unknown origin

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of October 7, 2015, at km 416 of National Highway 1A, in Dien Hong commune, Dien Chau, the working group of Dien Chau Traffic Control Station (under the Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Public Security) arrested a case of transporting poultry of unknown origin.

350 kg of slaughtered swallows of unknown origin.

The seized birds were swallows, weighing 350 kg, processed, contained in 05 foam boxes and refrigerated but still smelled bad. This shipment was transported on a passenger car with license plate 51B-186.24 driven by Mr. Le Quang Canh (born in 1963), residing in Quynh Giang commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province, traveling from South to North.

Upon inspection, the poultry had no documents proving their origin or quarantine certificates from the authorities. According to the driver, the birds were transported from Saigon to Quynh Luu district for consumption.

Currently, the above goods have been handed over to Dien Chau Veterinary Station for handling and destruction according to the provisions of law./.
