Arrest suspect of killing old woman and putting her in a sack

Vinh Phuc Provincial Police arrested Tran Van Hung (40 years old), residing in Quyet Tien village, Chan Hung commune, Vinh Tuong district, Vinh Phuc, the suspect of killing an old woman and hiding her body in a sack.

Earlier, at around 10 p.m. last night, Vinh Phuc Provincial Police received a report about the discovery of an old woman's body stuffed in a sack and thrown in a banana garden on the side of the road in Quyet Tien village, Chan Hung commune, Vinh Tuong district.

The victim was identified as Mrs. Tran Thi S. (77 years old, living in Chan Hung commune, Vinh Tuong district, Vinh Phuc).

Through examination of the scene, the police discovered many blood stains on the victim's body, the gold necklace and earrings he was wearing were missing.

Identifying this as a murder and robbery case, Colonel Pham Van Son, Deputy Director of Vinh Phuc Provincial Police, went to the scene and requested the working group to use all means to capture the perpetrator and not let him escape.

Using professional measures, the Criminal Police Department of Vinh Phuc Province Police arrested the perpetrator, Tran Van Hung (40 years old), living in the same village and about 500m from the victim's house.

At the investigation agency, Hung confessed that last night, Mrs. S. came to Hung's house and there, Hung pushed Mrs. S. to fall on the floor. Then he used a square metal bar to hit Mrs. S. twice in the back of the neck. Seeing the victim motionless, Hung took off Mrs. S's earrings and a gold necklace.

To avoid being discovered, Hung gave Mrs. S. a plastic bag and put it in a sack and carried it out to a banana garden 65 meters from her house. Then, Hung called a taxi to the Oanh Van gold and silver shop in Vinh Yen city to sell a 3-chi necklace and 2 2-chi earrings for more than 17 million VND.

When he had money, Hung bought a 2-tael ring and redeemed a motorbike that he had previously pawned at a pawn shop for 7.1 million VND.
