Arrest of drug trafficking group in Nghe An border area

At about 4:35 a.m. on October 25, on National Highway 48A, passing through Truong Banh area, Tien Phong commune, Que Phong district, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Nghe An Police) coordinated with Que Phong district police and professional units to arrest Nguyen Duc Cong, born in 1980, residing in Hai Tan ward, Hai Duong city, Hai Duong province, while illegally transporting drugs.

At the scene, the authorities seized 1 heroin cake, 2 cell phones and 1 car with license plate 29C-807.90.

Then, at around 5:37 a.m. the same day, in Kim Son town, Que Phong district, the Task Force urgently arrested Va Ba Cho, born in 1982, residing in Muong Long village, Tri Le commune, Que Phong district. In Hoang Mai industrial park (Quynh Thien commune, Hoang Mai town), the Task Force successfully arrested Luong Minh Thang, born in 1989, residing in Hop Thinh commune, Hiep Hoa district, Bac Giang province. These are two accomplices in the same ring.

At the investigation agency, the subjects initially confessed to all their crimes. Accordingly, taking advantage of the Muong Long village area, Tri Le commune, Que Phong district, which is a border area adjacent to Laos, Va Ba Cho sought to buy drugs from the other side of the border and then colluded with other subjects from other provinces, Nguyen Duc Cong and Luong Minh Thang, to transport drugs out of Nghe An for consumption.

During the course of committing the crime, the subjects only conducted transactions in Muong Long village, Tri Le commune. To avoid detection by the authorities, this group always used fake names and frequently changed vehicles during the move.

Currently, the case is being further investigated and expanded by Nghe An Police.
