Caught dozens of tons of industrial waste dumped illegally

On the afternoon of October 5, the Environmental Crime Prevention Police Department (PC49) of Binh Duong Province Police is completing the administrative violation case file against Ms. Huynh Thi Ha (residing in Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City) for dumping untreated industrial waste in the wrong place.

Previously, PC49 caught a car transporting more than 1 ton of industrial waste to the landfill (located in Dong Thanh quarter, Tan Dong Hiep ward, Di An town, Binh Duong) managed by Ms. Ha. This landfill has been operating since 2012.

Every day, Ms. Ha lets workers collect industrial waste from many companies in industrial parks, then uses cars to transport it to this dump, sorting the recyclable waste for resale; the rest will be burned on the spot.

At the time of the inspection, Ms. Ha could not present her business license or waste collection and transportation contract. The police made a record requesting Ms. Ha to collect all the dumped waste and hand it over to the competent authority for treatment.
