Driver arrested for causing accident that killed vice principal and daughter
Driver Duong Kiet Tam did not keep a safe distance, causing a series of accidents that killed the vice principal and his daughter. This driver has just been prosecuted and temporarily detained to serve the investigation.
On the afternoon of July 27, the People's Procuracy of Region 1 - Ha Tinh announced that the unit had just approved the decision to prosecute the accused and issue a 4-month temporary detention order for driver Duong Kiet Tam (born 1999, residing in Ho Chi Minh City) due toViolation of road traffic regulations.
Tam was the driver involved in the multiple-vehicle accident that killed Nguyen Trong B. (born in 1980, residing in Thien Cam commune, Ha Tinh province) and his daughter on July 20.
According to the investigation agency, at about 10:40 p.m. on July 20, Duong Kiet Tam drove a truck with license plate 50H-176.56 on National Highway 1A from South to North.

When arriving at Cam Xuyen commune, Ha Tinh province, due to not keeping a safe distance, the car driven by Tam crashed into the back of the car with license plate 38A-616.80 traveling in the same direction in front, driven by Mr. Nguyen Trong B. carrying his wife and 2 children.
After being hit from behind, the car driven by Nguyen Trong B. was pushed to the opposite lane and was then hit by a passenger bus with license plate 37H-076.85 driven by Nguyen Ngoc Chien (born in 1986, residing in Nghe An province) traveling from North to South.
The accident killed Mr. Nguyen Trong B. and his daughter, NTU. The accident also seriously injured Mr. B.'s wife and one of his children. It is known that Mr. Nguyen Trong B. was the Vice Principal of a local secondary school.
