9-month-old girl shot with 6 lead bullets
While playing at home, a 3-year-old boy in Dak Lak was hit by 6 lead bullets while playing with a gun by his uncle.
On the morning of March 25, the leader of Lam Dong General Hospital said that the health of Hau Kim Yen (9 months old, residing in Quang Hoa commune, Dak G'long district, Dak Nong) has stabilized after doctors surgically removed 4 lead bullets.
"There are still 2 pills in Yen's body. Because the patient's health is still weak, the unit has not performed further surgery yet," this person informed.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Hau Van Thanh (20 years old - Yen's father), said that at around 1:00 p.m. on March 25, he and his wife went to work on the field near their house so that their daughter could play with her uncle, Hau Van Thanh (3 years old). While the couple was working, they heard loud gunshots at home.

"I ran back and saw my daughter lying on the floor, covered in blood, next to her was a homemade gun more than 1 meter long. My husband and I took her to the emergency room in critical condition due to many wounds on her body from being hit by lead bullets," Mr. Thanh recalled.
A doctor from the Intensive Care - Anti-Poison Department (Lam Dong General Hospital) said that as soon as the child was admitted, because the child was too small, the Board of Directors consulted and selected an experienced doctor to perform surgery on the child immediately.
After the first surgery, the doctor removed 4 bullets from the baby's right leg. Currently, 2 bullets (1 in the chest, 1 in the left leg) of Yen have not been removed.
According to the victim’s father, while the two children were playing, Hau Van Thanh took a homemade gun from the bedside and shot 6 lead bullets at his daughter. This is a long-barreled gun that can fire up to 30 bullets at a time and is highly lethal.
