Abandoned newborn baby at Tan Ky district medical center has died
(Baonghean.vn) - A newborn baby weighing 900 grams, about 21 weeks old, passed away about 8 hours after being left by his family at Tan Ky District Medical Center.
According to Dr. Pham Thi Hien - Head of the Obstetrics Department of Tan Ky District Medical Center, at 4:00 p.m. on November 19, a masked man, about 45 years old, with a tall figure, left a black plastic bag at the department office and hurriedly left.
The Head of the Department and staff discovered and checked that in the black plastic bag there was a newborn baby, male, with the umbilical cord still intact, with purple head and limbs, irregular breathing, poor reflexes... wrapped in a new diaper. The medical team quickly performed initial first aid and immediately reported to the Center's Board of Directors.
The newborn baby weighed exactly 900 grams, was just born, about 21 weeks old, and was quickly given oxygen support, intravenous nutrition, and antibiotics to prevent secondary infection; blood tests were performed and he was placed in an incubator.
The baby was monitored, cared for, and given special care, however, due to being born prematurely and not being delivered at a medical center, the baby passed away at 11 p.m. the same day.
The doctors will bury the child according to local customs.
