(Baonghean.vn) - While following his friends in the village to catch hornets, Phong was stung many times by bees and had to be hospitalized for emergency treatment.

On the afternoon of September 3, 8-year-old Nguyen Van Phong, residing in Dong Ao hamlet, Nghia Hoi commune (Nghia Dan), was taken by relatives to the Nghia Dan District Medical Center in critical condition, with pale mucous membranes, difficulty breathing, red urine, increased liver enzymes, and blood clotting disorder due to being stung by many bees.

According to his family, Phong followed his friends in the village to catch a hornet's nest and was chased by the bees. Because he was small and weak, Phong could not run fast enough and was bitten many times.

After consultation, the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (Nghia Dan Medical Center) actively resuscitated Phong. By the morning of September 4, the patient was awake, out of shock, liver and kidney functions were recovering, and Phong's health was stabilizing again.

Doctors recommend that when stung by a bee, it is necessary to pay attention to timely first aid: Quickly remove the victim from the area with bees, keep the person stung by a bee lying still, avoid moving too much to limit the venom from spreading quickly in the body. Gently poke or use tweezers to remove the bee's stinger. Absolutely do not squeeze the stinger with your hands because it can cause the venom to spread and penetrate deeper into the body. Apply cold compresses to the sting to reduce pain and swelling, drink plenty of water to eliminate toxins. At the same time, take the person stung by a bee to the nearest medical facility for timely emergency care.
