Referee uses trickery to punish female player who refused to date him
A male referee at a women's soccer match in Spain is suspected of pressuring the team of a female player who refused a date.
The rare incident took place during the match between Sporting Huelva and Santa Teresa in the Women's La Liga. Sporting Huelva player Elena Pavel said that the main referee named Santiago Quijada Alcon flirted with her during the match: "Hey brunette, come have coffee with me tonight."
Elena was extremely shocked, feeling that the referee's actions were extremely rude and insulting: "In my career, I have never been in such a situation. I immediately refused and asked him to focus on controlling the match."

Having been flatly denied, referee Santiago seemed angry and started to play dirty tricks. Huelva FC had 2 players sent off and a clear penalty was denied. They eventually lost 2-3.
Referee Santiago denied Elena's accusations. The local referees' council could sue Elena for defamation. In 2012, Elena had racially discriminated against a colleague and the Huelva club later issued a statement defending their player.
