The incident was caused by a student who was playing around by hacking into the school's network and playing adult movies on the cafeteria TV, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
Knowing what happened, the principal panicked and ran to turn off the TV. The incident caused many parents to react because they were worried that their children had seen inappropriate images.
Daphne Raines, a parent of a 10th-grader at Mount Zion, said her jaw dropped when she received a text message with a screenshot of the adult movie playing on TV. “Mom, look what they’re doing while we’re eating. It’s on TV,” her daughter texted her.
“It’s outrageous, someone has to stop this,” said Raines. She immediately went to the school to pick up her child after receiving the message.
Education officials at the Clayton County School District, which oversees Mount Zion, said they are investigating and will discipline the student responsible. The school will also send a letter to parents explaining the incident, according to The Sun.
